As a San Jose newborn photographer, I love when families invite me to capture their very first days together. This session was extra special because it included not only a beautiful 9-day-old newborn and loving parents, but also their adorable poodle—truly a complete family portrait.
Newborn sessions at home are some of my favorites because they feel so relaxed and natural. On this day, we chose the bed as our setting, creating a cozy atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable. Mom and dad snuggled their tiny baby close while the poodle proudly joined in, proving that pets are just as much a part of the family story. Including animals in newborn photos with pets always adds warmth and authenticity—dogs bring their own unique energy, and this sweet pup was gentle, calm, and protective around the baby.
I focused on capturing candid moments: the newborn’s delicate features, the way dad held his child with pride, mom’s tender smile, and the poodle lying happily beside them. These details create timeless memories that parents will treasure forever.
